New Chapter In Life...

new job...new chapter in life! i start my new job at BNSF Railway tomorrow! i'm so excited for this new adventure in life! the last company i was with taught me a lot but it was time to move on. i've had off the last 2 weeks to give myself a little vacation before i start my new job and it has been wonderful! spent some time with my dad, visited kristen and matt, and otherwise was just lazy hanging around the apartment! this new job will also allow me to have a "normal" schedule. i will be working only monday through friday instead of monday through saturday! yea for having my weekends back after 4 years! it will be nice to be able to see friends and family more often!

in other news...i ran my very first Mud Run this past saturday! for those that dont know what it is...its a 10k run (6.2miles) with obstacles through mud and water. we even swam across the trinity river twice! it was so cold and very muddy but fun! i did have one little mishap...while trying to walk across the log walk (a board that is about 2 or 3 inches thick) i fell, hit the side of my face, wrist, arm and leg on the way down into the muddy water pit! kelly and megan were concerned i had hit my face so hard i was bleeding, but it was my wrist that hurt most of all. i just shook it off and still finished the race. now, 2 days later, everything but my face is bruised pretty badly! thankful my face didnt since i start my new job tomorrow!

jason is gearing up for deer season which means i will be seeing a little less of my husband for the next couple of months, well at least on the weekends! i know he is really excited to use his new rifle that he bought over the summer! hopefully he will get something this season so we can have some deer meat! yummy!

getting excited about the holidays coming up! i love decorating for Christmas! loving the cooler weather too! bring it on winter!

One year of marriage and loving every minute of it!

SO....i would have thought that i would have written in this thing more often, but i guess life gets busy, and i kind of forget about it until i see others updating their blogs. lol. even if no one reads this, its a fun way to blurt out all of my random thoughts. lets catch up on everything thats been going on since my last update...

it has been SO HOT this summer!!! i love summer, but this year it has been really hard to enjoy it since the 30+ days of 100 degree tmeps. i'm definitely looking forward to it cooling of some! i would be happy if it rained for a week straight, if it meant that the temps would be cooler!

Jason and I celebrated our one year anniversary a week ago!!! cant believe its already been a year! i looked forward to the many more ahead of us! we went to San Antonio for a nice long weekend! Stayed in the haunted Menger Hotel, which is beautiful and all the cool stories are fun to listen to! We also took a day trip to Fredericksburg to do a little shopping, adn eat some German food! spent a couple of days by the pool too! it was a great weekend to get away!!! when we came back, we followed tradition and ate some of our year old wedding cake (pictures to follow). it really didnt taste all that good! lol but it was fun to follow tradition and say that we did it!

i've also been working VBS at our church all summer! its something that i've done at every church i've been a member at! i love doing VBS every summer! the church we go to now actually does VBS a little different, instead of a week long camp, they spread it out over 10 weeks every sunday night! i love this because i can attend every night without work getting in the way! it is such a blessing! plusit has given me a chance to get to know some more people at the church a little better!

its getting late, and i probably should head to bed! i will leave with some pictures of our trip last weekend! love to all!

2011 and it's already March!

WOW! time has gone by so fast. can't believe i haven't blogged since Christmas! as i sit here trying to think of what all has happened the last few months, it seems like not much, but the time has flown by! so what has made it go by so fast?! well...

we moved into a new place starting back the middle of January! Jason became a courtesy officer and we are living for FREE in a nice, spacious townhouse in another complex in Fort Worth. not only are we hoping to save some money and pay off some debt with the money we are saving in rent, but we have so much more space! we went from a one bedroom, one bath, approx 800 sq ft apartment, to a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 car garage, and approx 1200 sq ft!! LOVE IT!!! and Wyatt loves running up and down the stairs! :) also, since we have an extra bedroom, we can have visitors! yay! so if any body wants to come and visit, let us know!

other happenings...we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo back in January and this past Friday, Kristen and I made our annual trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and saw Lady Antebellum! such an awesome concert! Jason and I have also gone fishing a couple of times over the last month because the weather has been so nice.

it seems as though we have a lot coming up over the next few weeks so i am trying to relax as much as possible! i've also been in training for a half marathon that i am going to run May 1st! i currently can run about 6miles with no stopping, which is about half way of where i need to be in about a month and half! i ran this same racr 3 years ago and i'm excited to see if i can run it a little faster this year! maybe one day i can work up to a full marathon, that is, if my knees can hold up to it! haha

thats all for now! this last weekend was very tiring so i'm gonna head to bed!

Our First Holidays as Mr. and Mrs. Spradlin

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I hope this post finds everyone well and enjoying your time with family on Christmas!!!

Our first Thanksgiving together was great and very relaxing!! good food, good times, and nice to spend time together! It was also a nice time for me to cook my very first Thanksgiving meal and try out some new recipes!! It all turned out very good!

Christmas this year was spent just the two of us! i loved every minute of it!!! I went to Christmas Eve service at church last night (Jason had to work) and spent my evening relaxing. Today, it was nice to wake up, relax, fix some sausage balls (i had to have a little piece of home tradition!), cook some Christmas lunch, and then wake my sleeping husband so that we could enjoy all of it! we opened presents, ate some yummy lunch, and then watched The Santa Clause (which Jason got me for Christmas!) it was a very nice morning spent with my wonderful husband!! i am SO blessed!!

Thats all for now! Can't wait for the new year! Excited to see what it has to store for us! Again, i hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!! love to all!

Fall is finally here....let's hope it stays!

hi friends!!! having updated in a while. not much going on right now....and i couldn't think of any fun topics to just spout about! lol

i know the first day of fall was last week, but today it really feels like it is fall! i love this cooler weather!!! maybe now i can really get back into a running routine!!

we are settling into married life and loving it!!! i love being a wife!!

last week i decided to experiment with some recipes out of my book that Jason's mom gave me at one of our showers! it has a whole bunch of recipes from different family members and i love it! i have always known how to cook and i can follow a recipe, but i only knew a few recipes that i know really well. eating those all the time, would get really boring!!! so....last monday we had meatloaf (his grandmom's recipe), tuesday we had enchiladas (his mom's recipe...of which turned out awesome and i was so proud) and wednesday we tried a side dish of his mom's called macaroni and tomatoes! pretty good! as i was cooking last week, Jason was looking through the book and would turn a page and say "oooh that one is good" and then turn another page and repeat....this went on for a few more pages! needless to say, looks like i have a lot more recipe experimenting in the near future! :)

in other news...we have slowly started the house hunting process! we haven't met with a lender yet but i have a family friend that lives in the area that is real estate agent and she has already set up some properties for us to look at online! we haven't really got into the process but it is still exciting and a little nerveracking! thankfully, since Cheri has known  my parents since before i was born, i feel really at ease knowing someone i trust is going to help us through this whole process! we are ready for some more room and i know Wyatt is ready for a big yard to play in! as i type this he is passed out on the living room floor! lol i love our puppy dog!

this last weekend was nice! went to Billy Bob's friday night with a friend and her fiance' to see Aaron Watson! it was a good concert and even though i had to get up early saturday for work, it was so worth being tired! also went down to belton this weekend to see UMHB play HSU(our rivals) and the Crusaders won 42-35!!! it was good to hang out with Matt and Kristen and enjoy watching the football game! got to see one of my old roomates Allison, today too!! with Kristen and Matt moving back down to belton, Allison in midland, and kelly in Korea....i miss being able to see some of my closest friends anytime i want! the plus side...i am starting to make more friends up hear in fort worth (after being here over a year)!! i love my friends, but its nice to have new ones! i am too much of a "social butterfly" to sit at home every night that Jason is at work, i get so bored!!!

i think that it all for now! holidays are coming up, so i'm sure i will have more to talk about then, if not before then! hope all is well with everyone!!!

The Beginning

This first post should be interesting since I haven't done any  kind of "blogging" since I had a Xanga back in high school! I figured this was a good way to keep everyone up to date on whats going on in our lives, or at least for those that want to know! lol

We've been married for 8 days now! :) Our wedding went beautifully! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Just a side note...thank you to everyone that made our day extra special!! We love you all!

Just got back from our honeymoon in Aruba on Friday!! It was awesome! We did a whole bunch of nothing, which was really nice after the crazy weeks leading up to the wedding! Most of our time was spent lounging on the beach. Here are a few pictures:
